Description

Yoav Bar-Am is a native of Israel. He is a graduate of the veterinary medicine faculty at the University of Torino in Italy. After graduation, he returned to Israel and practiced veterinary medicine for 11 years at a small animal hospital in Haifa. Dr. Bar-Am pursued his postgraduate training at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. He completed a small animal surgery residency program approved by the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. Following his residency, Dr. Bar-Am stayed on as a staff surgeon and initiated the small animal dentistry and oral surgery section. Then he completed 3 years of conforming residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery in the University of California at Davis and stayed an additional year as a clinical instructor. He then accepted the position of assistant professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in Colorado State University, where he initiated and developed the clinical and academic program in dentistry and oral surgery at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. After his return to Israel he resumed his position as head of the dentistry and oral surgery at the Koret veterinary teaching hospital. Dr. Bar-Am is a diplomate of the American and the European veterinary dental colleges.
